Eugene was born in Bakersfield, California, and rose to prominence as an artist at the age of 18 when he began playing guitar live with Merle Haggard. In 1987 he moved to Nashville where he managed Fireside Recording Studios. He was also a Buckaroo on Hee Haw, and was a regular on the Grand Ole' Opry for ten years. His instrumental style was influenced by his father, Gene Moles. In addition to his work as a producer and recording session artist, Eugene occasionally performs live.
